Born and Raised Wines Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo 2014 – Heathcote Victoria

If you love good Pinot Noir, you’ll enjoy this.  Nebbiolo could be Pinot’s bigger, sometimes more brutish sibling.  It’s Pinot with, well balls.

This our second release Heathcote Nebbiolo is light in style yet retains the hallmarks of Nebbiolo, firm fine tannins, high acidity with a dark core of inky black fruits and tar leading to the morello cherry, violet, and rose like perfume.

Product Description

Hailing from the hallowed area of North East Italy, Nebbiolo is responsible for the some of Italy’s most expensive and well known wines. Nebbiolo is a unique wine that reflects the site on which it was grown and Heathcote with its rich volcanic red soils and warm dry climate produce a unique richly perfumed Nebbiolo wine.

The 2014 release is a from the Willoughby Bridge vineyard situtatied on the Cambrian iron rich soils of Heathcote. Handpicked and sorted the 2014 vintage came in as some of the best fruit we’ve worked with. Ensuring a coolerm natural ferment open top fermenters and gently plunged up to 55 days post ferment has resulted in better and finer tannins. Aged for 14 months in 5 year+ French barriques. Will cellar for up to 10 years but drinking well upon release, we highly recommend decanting, Nebbiolo loves a bit of air.
